Daymer Bay Beach Guide.

Daymer Bay, Rock

A popular beach with many of our lodge owners, Daymer Bay is a beautiful, wide sandy beach on the Camel Estuary, offering a quieter and more sheltered alternative to some of North Cornwall’s Atlantic beaches.

With dunes behind the beach and lovely views across the estuary towards Padstow and Rock, it’s a great place for a relaxed day by the water.

Daymer bay is near Rock, which is 23 miles away from Hentervene Holiday Park. A bit further than the other beaches we recommend, but well worth the visit.

What makes Daymer Bay special?

Wide sandy beach

At low tide, the beach stretches out across the estuary, giving plenty of room for beach games, walking and relaxing.

Sheltered waters

The estuary provides calmer conditions than many of the exposed Atlantic beaches, making Daymer Bay popular with families and for paddling.

Surfing

…nope.

Dog friendly

Daymer Bay is a popular choice for dog owners with no seasonal restrictions.

Coastal walks

The South West Coast Path runs along the coast, with beautiful views across the Camel Estuary and towards the surrounding headlands.

Beach safety

Although Daymer Bay is more sheltered, the estuary has its own hazards, including changing tides and currents so be careful.

Check the tide times before exploring and take care around the water. Keep children supervised and follow local safety advice.

Daymer Bay is an unpatrolled beach.

Facilities

There is a car park close to the beach, with toilets and limited facilities nearby.

Our tip: Daymer Bay is particularly lovely on a sunny day when you can enjoy the views across the Camel Estuary.
